TL;DR
Steady stores everything on your iPhone. We don't collect, send, share, or sell any of your information. We don't run analytics. We don't use third-party SDKs that phone home.
What data Steady stores
The app stores the following on your device only:
- The names you give to profiles in the app.
- The weight readings, dates, and any notes you log for each profile.
- Your reminder preferences (which weekday and what time).
- A "has finished onboarding" flag in iOS user defaults.
Where the data lives
The data is stored in Apple's SwiftData persistent store inside the app's sandbox directory on your iPhone.
- iCloud Backup: the store file is included in iCloud Backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device — the same mechanism that backs up Photos and Notes.
- CloudKit sync: if you're signed into iCloud, Steady syncs your history across your Apple devices (iPhone, iPad) through Apple's CloudKit service. Your data is stored in *your own private iCloud database. We do not have access to it, do not see it, and could not retrieve it if we tried. Apple stores and transports it under their own privacy policy. To turn this off, sign out of iCloud or disable iCloud for Steady in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps using iCloud.
- Export: Steady offers a CSV export from each profile's dashboard so you can keep a copy of your data outside Apple's ecosystem. The exported file lives only where you save it.
We do not access, see, or have any control over the iCloud backup or sync data.
What Steady does not do
- We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers. We do not run any servers.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not require an account, email, or sign-in.
